Gooey Butter Cake lovers, rejoice: Tampa is now home to another Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams scoop shop.
The new shop, which opened earlier this month at 305 West Palm Ave., sits on the ground floor of The Pearl apartment building, the mixed-use development across from Armature Works in Tampa Heights.
The opening marks the second Tampa location for the popular ice cream brand. The first local outpost opened at Sparkman Wharf last July.
While the Sparkman Wharf location operates as a walk-up window only, the new 1,543-square-foot parlor includes the ice cream shop’s signature orange signage, black-and-white tiles, outdoor patio seating and a waffle station in front.
Fans will be happy to hear that all the popular flavors are available at the new spot, from Brambleberry Crisp to Goat Cheese and Red Cherries. Yes, they’ve even got the newest, of-the-moment Everything Bagel flavor — a sweet and savory combo of cream cheese ice cream, sesame and poppy seeds, onions and garlic. The shop also features several dairy-free options, including Lemon Bar Pint and Texas Sheet Cake.
Founder Jeni Britton Bauer launched her ingredient-driven scoop shop concept in 2002 in Columbus, Ohio. Since then, the brand has expanded nationally and is now sold in more than 50 scoop shops across the country and available at 3,000-plus grocery retailers nationwide.
Jeni’s at The Pearl is open from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday and from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
