Tampeños, if you have a hankering for local seafood and creative cocktails, check out Trophy Fish, now open in Seminole Heights.
Trophy Fish established itself in St. Petersburg’s Grand Central District a few years ago for its fresh seafood, laid-back vibe and Instagram-worthy cocktails.
The same “bait-shop chic” aesthetic is found at the Seminole Heights location, which shares the building with its sister craft cocktail concept, Mandarin Heights.
Among the menu favorites are the house-made fish spread and grouper sandwich. Smoked shrimp, oysters, fish tacos and a seafood boil for two are likely crowd-pleasers. Dessert lovers can try house-made cheesecakes and ice cream.
Award-winning cocktails designed to complement the food include the Pistachio Mai-Tai and the Aloe-Ha.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing our unique brand of fresh, delicious seafood and ‘boat drinks’ to the Tampa community,” owner Ryan Griffin said in a news release. “Our goal was to create a one-of-a-kind relaxed atmosphere where our patrons can sit back, relax, escape the busy city life, and enjoy great food with their family and friends.”
Trophy Fish Tampa is at 5901 N Florida Ave. Hours are 4-10 p.m. Wednesday-Friday and noon-10 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Trophy Fish St. Pete is at 2060 Central Ave. 5-10 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, 4-10 p.m. Friday and noon-10 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. The bar is open later at both locations. trophyfish.com.
