Just in time for pumpkin spice season, the highly anticipated doughnut shop The Salty Donut is opening in Hyde Park Village on Sept. 15.
The Miami-based shop has locations in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Texas. The Hyde Park Village location is the first in Tampa, with a second location in Seminole Heights planned for later this year.
“Being Florida-founded and based, Amanda and I have been traveling all over the state since we were little kids,” said Andy Rodriguez, CEO of The Salty Donut, in a news release. “As we made our way to expand throughout the state, we knew as soon as we went further north, we had to do Orlando and Tampa/St. Pete.”
Part of the shop’s menu is influenced by its Tampa location, like the guava and cheese and strawberry tres leches cake doughnuts. Seasonal menu offerings include banana cream pie, the gluten-free chocolate chip and sea salt, and the vegan ube pina colada.
Other baked goods include a homemade strawberry frosted “Pop Tart,” Corn Flake chocolate chip cookie, and everything bagel and cream cheese puff.
Wash it all down with options from the coffee menu like a maple and brown sugar cold brew, cinnamon cereal milk latte and the pumpkin white mocha latte.
Tampa residents can register to get a preview of the Hyde Park Village location and a free box of staple items through a lottery system. Click here to register. More than 50 winners will be selected per day. Winners will be notified via email and pickups will begin on Sept. 9.
On opening weekend Sept. 15-17, the first 50 guests each day will receive a limited-edition gift bag including a Tampa tote bag, postcard and stickers.
Open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 7 a.m. -10 p.m. Friday-Saturday. 1519 W Swann Ave., Tampa. saltydonut.com.
