For the past 15 years, patrons have flocked to Seminole Heights restaurant Ella’s Americana Folk Art Cafe for food, drinks, music and art.
But now owner Melissa Deming has listed the property for sale. This means the restaurant could close unless the buyer purchases it along with the property, said Carter Henderson of Florida ROI Commercial Property Brokerage, who is handling the sale.
“This property has served me and the neighborhood very well for the past 15 years but it is time for me to move on to other ventures,” Deming said in a news release.
Deming opened the popular spot at 5119 N. Nebraska Ave. in 2008 and named it after her grandmother. The property was developed by her father’s construction company. It’s regarded as a pioneer of the Seminole Heights food scene.
The place is covered with Deming’s artwork inside and out and was home to the lively Soul Food Sundays. Deming estimates she has hosted more than 2,000 live music shows there over the years.
