Brandon, Wesley Chapel to see premiere of new Cirque Italia ‘water circus’

The family-friendly show features a stage that holds 35,000 gallons of water that create fountain effects for the acrobatic performers.

Cirque Italia, a traveling troupe based in Palmetto, is premiering its new “traveling water circus” in Brandon and Wesley Chapel in the next few weeks.

The show premieres under a big tent at Brandon Town Center on Friday and continues through Jan. 17. It moves to The Grove in Wesley Chapel at 6330 Wesley Grove Blvd. from Jan. 27 to Feb. 6.

The family-friendly show has a stage that holds 35,000 gallons of water that create fountain effects for the performers. The European-style show features acrobatic acts that swing from ropes, flip over trapezes and zip by on BMX bikes and roller skates.

Show times at Brandon Town Center are Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. It continues Monday, Wednesday and Jan. 12-14 at 7:30 p.m. and the weekend shows Jan. 15-17 are at 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.

• Jan. 29: 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.

• Jan. 30: 1:30 and 4:30 p.m.

• Jan. 31, Feb. 2-4: 7:30 p.m.

• Feb. 5: 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.

• Feb. 6: 1:30 and 4:30 p.m.
