Taylor Swift has not wasted a single second of downtime this year, it seems. The musician announced this morning that she is releasing her second new album of 2020.

Called Evermore, it’s her ninth studio album and, according to Swift, “folklore’s sister record.” It debuts at midnight.

“Ever since I was 13, I’ve been excited about turning 31 because it’s my lucky number backwards, which is why I wanted to surprise you with this now,” Swift wrote in social media posts announcing the album. She turns 31 on Dec. 13.

“To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs,” she wrote. “To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in.”

There are 15 tracks on the standard edition, and the deluxe physical edition will include two bonus tracks.

A video called Willow will also drop at midnight, and Swift will be on the YouTube premiere page just before then to answer questions from fans.

Now, to speculate wildly based on her Instagram photos: Is she wearing a wedding dress? Is she marrying longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn? Based on her secret productivity this year, she probably already did.
