The first decade of the 2000s produced some real club bangers, many of which can be heard when the Millenium Tour 2021 comes to Tampa’s Amalie Arena on Nov. 6.
The tour was slated to come to the Amalie in May 2020 but was canceled because of the pandemic.
The tour stars singer, dancer and actor Omarion (Ice Box, O) along with Bow Wow (Marco Polo), who collaborated on the 2007 album Face Off. The tour also stars rapper Soulja Boy, whose debut single Crank That peaked at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in 2007.
Soulja Boy and Bow Wow are about to square off on Verzuz, a webcast in which artists battle each other, going back and forth performing their hits. They’ve been trolling each other on social media ahead of the battle on June 26.
Also on the bill is Ashanti, whose eponymous debut album won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album in 2003.
Hip-hop duo Ying Yang Twins (Say I Yi Yi, Salt Shaker), R&B/hip-hop group Pretty Ricky (On the Hotline), Lloyd (Get It Shawty) and Sammie (I Like It) round out the bill.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on June 26 at amaliearena.com.
