To celebrate the opening of the 2021-22 season, the National Hockey League and the Tampa Bay Sports Commission are presenting a free concert in downtown Tampa. The NHL Face Off Concert will feature a free performance by rockers All Time Low on Oct. 12.

Theevent precedes the game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Pittsburgh Penguins at 7:30 p.m.

The band, known for the hit single Monsters, will play from a stage in the water, where the Hillsborough River meets Garrison Channel. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., audiences can gather to watch the performance on land at the Tampa Convention Center’s Sail Plaza (333 S Franklin St.) or by boat in Garrison Channel.

The concert will be part of ESPN’s pregame coverage starting at 7 p.m.

After the concert, the Stanley Cup will travel by police boat from the performance stage to ESPN’s outdoor set in Thunder Alley before its procession into Amalie Arena, where the Lightning will raise their third Stanley Cup championship banner with a ceremony.
