The Smashing Pumpkins are coming to Tampa’s Amalie Arena in October

Special guests Jane’s Addiction will also play the Oct. 7 concert. Tickets go on sale May 13.

Oct. 7 could be the greatest day fans of The Smashing Pumpkins will have ever known, when the band plays Amalie Arena with special guests Jane’s Addiction. Tickets go on sale May 13. The Spirits on Fire tour is produced by Live Nation.

The Smashing Pumpkins emerged from Chicago in 1988, weaving together elements of rock, pop, goth, metal, psychedelia and electronic in their sound. Their catalog includes the platinum Gish (1991), the quadruple-platinum Siamese Dream (1993), diamond-certified Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995), platinum Adore (1998) and gold Machina/The Machines of God (2000).

Throughout their career, the band has racked up two Grammy Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards and an American Music Award.

In 2018, the band released Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun. In 2020, they released CYR and announced that they will release more music this year as they begin touring.

Forming in 1985 in Los Angeles, Jane’s Addiction also blends genres in alternative, metal and psychedelia. Fans will hope to hear favorites such as Jane Says, Been Caught Stealing, Mountain Song or the epic Three Days. They’re known for energetic live shows with lots of cool visual elements.

Tickets range from $45.25-$146.25 and go on sale at 10 a.m. May 13 at
