Jazz-rock legends Steely Dan will bring the Absolutely Normal Tour ‘21 to the Mahaffey Theater for two concerts on Oct. 15-16. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
Steely Dan was formed in the early 1970s by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen. Becker died in 2017, but keyboardist and lead vocalist Fagen continues to tour under the Steely Dan moniker.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are known for their distinctive sound and hits from the 1970s and ‘80s including Reeling in the Years, Rikki Don’t Lose That Number, Peg and Hey Nineteen. After reuniting in the early 1990s, they toured throughout the decade and released a live album in 1995, Alive In America. In 2000, they released Two Against Nature, a Grammy Award-winning album.
In September, Steely Dan will release Northeast Corridor: Steely Dan Live!. At the same time, Fagen will release The Nightfly Live, a live recording of his 1982 solo album, performed live by the Steely Dan Band.
Tickets for the St. Petersburg show start at $76 and are available at themahaffey.com.
