Miley Cyrus' homeless buddy has been sentenced to six months in jail for violating his probation in Oregon.
Jesse Helt, whom Cyrus had accept her MTV Video Music Award in August, had been arrested in 2010 after breaking into an apartment, according to the Associated Press. Helt, 22, failed to meet his probation officer, didn't obey curfew and never completed the 88 hours of community service he was assigned.
Instead, he moved to Los Angeles and tried to become a model.
Cyrus met Helt when she visited My Friend's Place, a shelter for homeless youth in L.A. She had him accept her Video of the Year award for Wrecking Ball to shed light on the issue of homelessness. She also hooked him up with a defense attorney once his MTV appearance gave away where he had been all that time.
