The last time Lionel Richie came to Tampa, it ended up being our favorite concert of 2017. The way he rolled through hit after hit after hit, spreading pure joy to every inch of Amalie Arena, was a wonder to behold.

"This is gonna be one of those nights to remember!" he said that night, flashing a devilishly entertaining grin. "I want you to look around right where you are, because even though you came as couples, you are not alone. The people around you, you will know very well before the night's over with. Because those are the people you're going to hear singing for the rest of the night!"

REVIEW (2017): Lionel Richie brings pure joy, Mariah Carey more mystery at Tampa's Amalie Arena

If that's not incentive enough to buy tickets to his next show in town, something's wrong with you.

Richie will bring his just-announced summer tour to Amalie Arena on July 28. He'll be performing in support of a new album, Live from Las Vegas, that captures performances from throughout his career during a Las Vegas residency. Tickets purchased online for the album will include a copy of the album; they'll go on sale at 10 a.m. April 5. Prices were not immediately announced, but trust us, they're worth it.

Richie hasn't announced an opening act yet, but he often gets some pretty big names. His opening act in Tampa in 2017 was Mariah Carey. So keep an eye out for more details.
