TAMPA — One of rapper Lil Wayne's signature lines is "Weezy F and the F is for ... " fly, fresh, etc.

"Feeling ill," doesn't quite roll off the tongue.

But that is why the rapper announced in a last-minute tweet that he would not be performing as planned Friday evening at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre.

"Feeling under the weather… and kant (sic) go," he tweeted at 5:37 p.m. "Promise I'll make it up to you guys."

The Louisiana rapper — legal name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., age 36 — is touring the country with Blink-182 and was scheduled to open the band's concert at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

This isn't the first setback for Lil Wayne while touring this year.

In May, the rapper did not perform at the Rolling Loud hip-hop festival because he said police wanted to search him before he went on stage at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

Earlier this month, he walked off stage after performing just four songs during a show in Bristow, Va., The Fader reported.

"Please forgive me," Wayne said at the time. "I am so not used to performing to a crowd and there's not too many, you know, like still, that's not my swag. … This might be my last night though, let's go."

Officials from MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre and Live Nation, which runs the facility, could not be reached for comment late Friday.
