It's 2 p.m. on my first day back from a weeklong vacation, and I JUST got through my terrifying block of e-mail. I am about to tackle the voicemail box next, which I fear is equally scary, but first I wanted to take a break and remember a better time, a more peaceful time, a time that required no e-mail, no phone, no shoes.
This special time was last week. I was in Ocho Rios Jamaica at an all-inclusive resort, courtesy of a Groupon that was too good to pass up. In this pic, I am wearing no makeup and a yellow turban-type thing I purchased at Beauty Depot on Fowler Avenue for $4. Everyone should get one for bad hair days, IMHO. That dress? It's a Target tie-dye maxi skirt that I hiked up-up-up until it became a dress. No rules in Jamaica!
I accessorized with a look of tropical relaxation and a can of "Coca-Cola Light," which is the island version of Diet Coke (not the same, not the same). Can I go back now? Please? Pretty please? I'll even bring my own Diet Coke.
