The Tampa Bay Times introduced this podcast in December 2017, with Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Lane DeGregory and her editor, Maria Carrillo, offering advice and lessons on reporting, writing and editing.

It’s time for a hiatus. DeGregory and Carrillo will be working on a serialized podcast in 2021 before returning to WriteLane.

In the meantime, the collection of episodes will be moving over to the Poynter Institute website. There, the episodes will be reordered and categorized. The goal is to create an easy-to-use resource in a place that focuses on teaching and nurturing journalists around the world.

With Poynter’s help, we hope to develop new seasons of WriteLane. For now, please listen to this look back.

WriteLane episodes are available on the Tampa Bay Times’ website and a variety of places. Go here to listen and subscribe for free on the Podcasts app and iTunes. If you like the show, be sure to leave us a review.
