Boy on bike hit by SUV in St. Pete, police say

A 14-year-old boy on a bicycle was struck by a car in St. Petersburg Monday afternoon, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

An SUV struck the boy around 2:04 p.m. at the intersection of 34th Avenue North and 37th Street North, police said. The boy suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital where he is in critical but stable condition. The driver of the SUV is cooperating with officers.

An investigation is ongoing.
