A 60-year-old Spring Hill man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Hernando County on Sunday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man was driving a motorcycle on Powell Road, west of Falcon Ridge Trail, around 10:40 a.m. when he drifted from the road and and overturned before hitting a nearby fence, the agency said in a news release.

The driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, despite having worn a helmet. Police did not release his name.
