A homeless man was hired for a job after a Tallahassee police officer helped him shave his beard.

A viral video, posted on Sunday, shows police officer Tony Carlson helping a man named Phil shave outside of a Circle K. Carlson had spotted Phil struggling with a razor and offered to help, according to WCTV.

Phil had applied for a job at McDonald's, but needed to be clean-shaven in order to work at the restaurant. He was having a hard time shaving without a mirror. According to an interview posted to Facebook by Greg Tish of Real Talk 93.3, the shave helped him secure the job.

The police department posted about the act of kindness on social media.
