Pig Jam smokes up food, fun for 15th year

The Suncoast Credit Union Plant City Pig Jam runs from 5 –10 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 17) and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 18) at Randy Larson Four-Plex/Plant City Stadium, 1401 Gordon Food Service Drive in Plant City. This is the 15th annual event packed with food, entertainment and fun for the family.

Attendees can enjoy food, live entertainment, kids activities, merchandise and tons of barbecue. Pig Jammers will have barbecue and more to enjoy while the grill line remains busy. Enjoy a rock climbing wall, moon walks, vendors and more for everyone.

The chefs will compete in the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) sanctioned competition and see how they stack up against competitors from around the country. Teams can compete in both professional and amateur divisions, prizes for the top 10 teams will be awarded in each of the following categories: ribs, pork, beef brisket and chicken.

Attendees interested can also apply to judge the competition, be a vendor, sponsor or to register as a volunteer. Admission is free. Live bands like The Daniel Sprouse Band, The Brass Roots Band, Ace Jackson and the Jump Kings, The Double Barrell Band, Eli Mosley and Candy Greene, will perform.
