University of Tampa adjunct professor Doug Engleman, 69, has found an engaging student in 18-year-old Dylan Romero.

After an introductory sociology class discussion in which Engleman asked Romero a question about wearing a durag as a cultural symbol, Romero showed up to class with a gift for Engleman, a durag of his own.

Someone in the class took video of Romero presenting Engleman, who is also a PhD student at the University of South Florida, with his very own durag, and the footage went viral.

"I'm a 69-year-old white guy who's not going to look good in a du-rag," Engelman told Buzzfeed. "[But] I just went with it. I was really gratified that he did that. ... I felt like Dylan and I were brothers. Just 40 years younger and of another race."

So a few weeks prior, My Professor was teaching us about different cultures & ask me "Dylan why do you where a durag? Is I?t a part of your culture?" I? told him "Na, It's my lifestyle". So a few weeks later, I? surprised him with his own durag to become part of the lifestyle. pic.twitter.com/8ulbaLvrr4
