ST. PETERSBURG — A father with his toddler in his car was arrested minutes after he robbed a convenience store on Thursday, police said.

St. Petersburg police got a call at 1:48 p.m. reporting a masked robber at QuikThru on 4th Street N. Police said the robber pointed a gun at the clerk.

Melendez had a mask and a gun in the car, police said, as well as his 18-month-old daughter.

He was charged with armed robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and child endangerment.
