TAMPA — Two deputies helped a woman deliver a baby at the Florida State Fair on Friday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies Roberto Ramirez and Henry Echenique heard a woman asking for help sometime after 4 p.m. because her water broke, said sheriff's spokesman Danny Alvarez.

"They helped the woman's husband deliver a healthy baby girl near the Expo Hall," he said.

Echenique caught and held the baby until Tampa Fire Rescue arrived, he said. They were taken to St. Joseph's Women's Hospital. The woman's name was not released.

In all, 10 deputies assisted, Alvarez said.
