Pool service worker in hospital after near drowning in Clearwater

The 30-year-old man remained in critical condition on Saturday

A pool service worker is in critical condition after being found unresponsive on Friday in a pool in Clearwater.

Lawn maintenance workers found Darian Welch-Weaver, 30, unresponsive in a pool on Yulee Drive around 5:30 p.m., Clearwater police spokesman Rob Shaw said in a news release. Clearwater Fire & Rescue and Clearwater Police responded to the scene.

Welch-Weaver was taken to Morton Plant Hospital with potential life-threatening injuries, Shaw said.
