Steinbrenner High School band teacher accused of sexual misconduct with student

The 35-year-old teacher faces 30 counts in a case involving a 17-year-old, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

LUTZ — A Steinbrenner High School band teacher was arrested Friday on charges that he repeatedly engaged in sexual misconduct with a student.

Jason Allgair, 35, faces 30 counts of being an authority figure engaging in sexual conduct with a student.

Deputies say a 17-year-old student at the school recently disclosed that she was involved in a “relationship,” with the teacher.

The incidents took place over a 7-month period from October 2017 to May 2018, deputies said, both on and off the campus at 5575 W Lutz Lake Fern Road.

Deputies did not say how old the victim was when the incidents took place, or how the incidents came to light.

Allgair has been the band director at Steinbrenner High for four years. He was placed on administrative leave pending termination, said a Hillsborough County School District spokeswoman.
