TAMPA — A man was stabbed and then shot at on Saturday, deputies say. Now a man and a woman face charges in the attacks.
Carrington Thornton, 21, was arrested on a charge of attempted second-degree murder with a weapon. Pedro David Sanchez Baez, 41, was arrested on charges of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm and shooting at or within a vehicle.
The incident took place about 3 p.m. in the 5000 block of Williams Road, in a neighborhood southeast of the Interstate 4/I-75 interchange, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Thornton stabbed the victim during an argument in what deputies call a domestic-related incident.
Then Sanchez Baez, who lives near the home where the stabbing incident took place, drove by and shot at the stabbing victim from his vehicle, deputies said.
Sanchez Baez drove off but was tracked down and arrested at N 56th Street and Puritan Road, deputies said, which is about a 30-minute drive from the stabbing incident.
Thornton was also arrested.
The victim was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The Sheriff’s Office did not release the man’s name or say why two different people attacked him on Saturday.
