ST. PETERSBURG — A 29-year-old New Port Richey woman was seriously injured when a driver slammed into her car head-on Wednesday night outside the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport.
The woman was headed west on Roosevelt Boulevard at about 10:40 p.m. when she was by a car driven by a 48-year-old St. Petersburg man, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers believe drugs and alcohol were a factor in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
The Highway Patrol did not release the name of the two drivers because of its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, a voter-approved amendment to the state Constitution that was meant to protect crime victims but deprives the public of information that had long been made available under Florida’s public records laws.
