A 30-year-old man was arrested this week in a fatal shooting that left one man dead last month in Plant City, deputies say.

Luis Jose Coronado faces a charge of manslaughter with a firearm after the Nov. 25 incident that took place in the Turkey Creek area, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

He was taken into custody on Tuesday in Polk County.

The investigation started on Nov. 25 when a man wounded by gunfire was brought to South Florida Baptist Hospital for emergency medical treatment, deputies said. The gunshot victim, whose name was not released, died of his injuries.

Sheriff’s investigators learned the shooting took place on the 5000 block of Sydney Road. They obtained a search warrant to investigate the home there and interviewed the occupants. Deputies believe the man who died knew the person who shot him.

The Sheriff’s Office released no other details about the incident. Coronado will be brought back to Hillsborough County where the criminal case will be handled.
