A 22-year-old Tampa woman was killed early Friday morning after the car she was driving crashed and landed in a pond, Florida Highway Patrol troopers report.

Troopers said the woman was driving south on East Lake Road about 6:40 a.m. when she lost control of the car south of Trinity Boulevard.

The car “struck a sewer air release valve, and then collided with a hand rail before dropping 20 feet into an adjacent pond,” troopers wrote in a news release.

Troopers did not release any other details about the crash, including the woman’s identity. However, family members started a GoFundMe site and identified the victim as Haley Easton.
