TAMPA — A 35-year-old Tampa woman died Wednesday morning when she lost control of her car and crashed while headed south on Interstate 75 approaching I-4, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred about 8:05 a.m. when the woman’s car left the roadway, entered the west shoulder and collided with a light pole and a signpost. It wasn’t clear why she lost control.

The Highway Patrol did not release the woman’s name because of its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, a voter-approved amendment to the state Constitution that was meant to protect crime victims but that deprives the public of information long available under Florida’s public records law.
