A New Port Richey man riding a motorcycle died after a car pulled into his path Saturday night on State Road 54 in Pasco County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The motorcycle rider, 62, was headed east on S.R. 54 when the driver of the car failed to yield, pulling north into his path from a stop sign at Cattle Ranch Way.
The victim died later at a hospital from the injuries he received in the collision. The driver of the car, a 30-year-old Holiday woman, was not injured. She was wearing her seatbelt.
The Highway Patrol did not release their names because of its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, a voter-approved amendment to the state Constitution that is meant to protect crime victims but that deprives the public of information long available under Florida’s public records laws.
