A 64-year-old Seminole man died Monday night after state troopers said he walked into the path of a pickup truck while crossing the road.
Just before 8:30 p.m., the pickup truck, driven by a 45-year-old Largo man, was heading north on Starkey Road north of Park Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Seminole man was traveling west across Starkey Road and collided with the truck. He was taken to a local hospital and later died from his injuries, troopers said.
The Highway Patrol did not release the name of those involved in the crash because of its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, a voter-approved amendment to the state Constitution that was meant to protect crime victims but that deprives the public of information long available under Florida’s public records law.
