The 33-year-old woman accused of crashing her SUV through a Pasco County cycling studio and then driving off earlier this week was arrested Saturday, troopers say.
Courtney Janzen was arrested in the parking lot of the Publix at 13752 Little Road in Hudson, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. She was tracked down after troopers said someone at the store recognized Janzen’s red 2007 Ford Explorer, which had a damaged front-end and bent hood, as the vehicle sought in the earlier incident.
Janzen was still shopping when troopers arrived, they said they were waiting for her when she left the store.
She faces charges of leaving the scene of a crash, failing to report a crash, careless driving, driving with an expired tag and driving without insurance. She was taken to the Pasco County jail but her bail information was not known late Saturday.
Janzen had been wanted since Wednesday, when the Highway Patrol said she drove the SUV into Cycle Bar Gym, a cycling studio at 8918 Strength Ave. in Trinity about 12:30 a.m.
The Ford Explorer was seen driving south through the parking lot when troopers say it crashed into and drove through the studio. Then the SUV then backed out of the building and drove off, according to the Highway Patrol.
Images of the incident show the cycling studio suffered significant damage. Those images, and images of Janzen’s damaged SUV, were shared by troopers and led to Saturday’s tip.
The Publix in Hudson and the cycling studio are both off Little Road, about an 11-mile drive apart.
