A pedestrian was killed after he was struck while standing on Park Street North in Pinellas County early Wednesday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
The incident occurred about 5:40 a.m. on Park Street near the intersection of 46th Avenue N.
Troopers said a 71-year-old Largo woman was driving north on Park when she struck the pedestrian. The driver was “unable to observe the pedestrian along the unlighted roadway with time to avoid a collision,” troopers wrote in a news release.
Troopers were working to determine the identity of the pedestrian, who was identified only as a male.
