ZEPHYRHILLS — A 28-year-old Dade City man died Saturday night when he failed to negotiate a curve and his pickup truck overturned, ejecting him, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred about 10:50 p.m. as the pickup was headed south on Eiland Boulevard south of Hilton Road near Zephyrhills.

The driver left the roadway, entered the shoulder and the truck overturned, the Highway Patrol said. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Highway Patrol did not release the driver’s name because of its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, a voter-approved amendment to the state Constitution that was meant to protect crime victims but that deprives the public of information long available under Florida’s public records law.
