The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a pickup truck involved in a fatal hit and run from Friday.
The accident occurred in Plant City around 12:22 a.m. Friday. The truck with a silver cab and white truck bed was seen traveling east on West Trapnell Road near Mud Lake Road.
The body of an adult male was found in the 2000 block of West Trapnell Road, deputies said.
“A driver should never flee from the scene of a crash,” Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. “We need the public to keep an eye out for this truck and let us know if they see it. The victim’s family deserves answers.”
No further information, including the name of the victim or driver, has been released at this time. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 813-247-8200.
