A 53-year-old man was killed while he rode his bike Wednesday evening after a car struck him from behind in Winter Haven, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Samuel Harris, of Winter Haven, was riding on Seventh Street SW near Avenue R SW when he was struck by a car about 6:44 p.m. He died at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the car was 36-year-old Geneva Cunningham, also of Winter Haven, who was not injured in the crash.
A spokesman for the Highway Patrol said an investigation is still ongoing. It is still unknown if charges will be issued for the crash.
