Spring Hill motorcyclist dies in Pasco County crash

A Hudson man, 79, sustained minor injuries.

A 57-year-old Spring Hill man is dead after colliding with a sport utility vehicle driven by a 79-year-old man from Hudson on Wednesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The SUV was traveling southbound on U.S. 19 as he approached Bolton Avenue shortly after 2:30 p.m., troopers said. He was in the left turn lane, and the motorcycle was traveling northbound on U.S. 19 in the center lane.

As the two vehicles approached the intersection, the SUV turned into the path of the motorcycle and the motorcycle hit the front right of the SUV, the Highway Patrol said.

The motorcyclist was ejected and died at the scene, troopers said. He was not wearing a helmet. The SUV driver sustained minor injuries, according to the Highway Patrol.
