Two people were seriously injured after a motorcycle driver struck a pedestrian in St. Petersburg on Friday night, according to police.

The motorcycle was heading north on 4th Street North when the driver hit a pedestrian near 6th Avenue North at 8:40 p.m., the St. Petersburg Police Department said in a news release Friday night.

The investigation has closed all lanes of 4th Street North between 5th Avenue North and 9th Ave North, police said.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.

The St. Petersburg Police Department did not release the names of the two people who were injured because of its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, an amendment to the state Constitution.
