A 74-year-old woman from Port St. Lucie died after the sedan she was driving crossed the center of the roadway and collided nearly head on with a pickup truck during a three-car accident Friday in Winter Haven, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The sedan was driving eastbound on State Road 544 at 2:39 p.m. Friday when the collision with the truck occurred and the sedan flipped and hit another car on Old Lucerne Park Road, investigators said.

The woman suffered fatal injuries at the scene.

A passenger in the sedan, a 86-year-old male from Winter Haven, and the driver of another sedan, a 66-year-old man from Haines City, were seriously injured, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The 53-year-old man driving the truck had minor injuries, and his 31-year-old male passenger was not injured, investigators said.
