A 55-year-old bicyclist died after a pickup truck hit him in Weeki Wachee Gardens on Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A Spring Hill pickup truck driver, 37, was traveling north on Shoal Line Boulevard, south of Cortez Boulevard, and the truck “overtook” a motorized bicycle with lights heading in the same direction, law enforcement said. The truck driver had no reported injuries.
The bicyclist from Hudson was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
