The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a decomposed body was found in Port Richey.
Deputies responded to a report that remains had been found in the Richwood Lane and Embassy Boulevard area of the city on Saturday night, according to Amanda Hunter, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office. The report was confirmed by deputies upon arriving at the scene.
Although the remains are heavily decomposed, Hunter said they appear to be those of an adult female. Identification of the person and the cause of death are pending information from the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
No additional information was available Sunday morning, Hunter said.
