A 74-year-old Hudson man is dead after he was hit by a car in Pasco County Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man was at a crosswalk at the intersection of Little Road and Hudson Avenue when he began walking northbound and entered the path of a vehicle driven by a 58-year-old woman from Hudson around 7:55 a.m., troopers said. The woman’s car then struck the man.

The man was taken to an area hospital, where he later died, the Highway Patrol said.

The Highway Patrol did not release the names of the pedestrian who was killed or the driver involved in the crash because of its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, an amendment to the state Constitution.
