A Sun City Center woman died after a two-vehicle crash about 9 p.m. on Saturday along U.S. 301 in Hillsborough County.

The woman, 64, was driving east in a Honda Fit along a driveway leading up to the 18000 block of U.S. 301 when she failed to yield before entering the intersection, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The second vehicle, a Ford Fusion, was traveling south on U.S. 301 when it struck the driver’s side of the Honda as the car entered the intersection. Both vehicles rotated until coming to a final stop along the west grass shoulder of the road, according to the accident report.

The Ford Fusion was driven by a 33-year-old man from Temple Terrace. A 26-year-old woman from Wimauma was in the passenger seat at the time of the crash.

Officials said the three people involved were taken to a hospital, where the driver of the Honda Fit died from her injuries.

The occupants of the Ford Fusion remain in the hospital with serious injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.

The Highway Patrol did not release the names of the people involved in the crash.
