TAMPA — A bicyclist was struck by a sport utility vehicle and killed just before midnight Saturday near the Interstate 4 and Interstate 75 interchange, the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash happened at the intersection of Williams Road and Old Hillsborough Avenue, deputies say.

Deputies believe the bicyclist was hit by a red 2006-2010 Jeep Commander. The SUV was headed south on Williams Road when the front driver’s side struck the bicyclist. The vehicle might be missing its driver-side front wheel trims, driver-side front wheel well liner and driver-side mirror.

The Sheriff’s Office did not release the name of the victim.

Anyone with information was asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 813-247-8200.
