A St. Petersburg man was killed Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash on I-275, according to a report from Florida Highway Patrol.
The report states that the man, 32, was traveling southbound on I-275 when he lost control of his sedan and crashed into a guardrail near milepost 21.
After colliding with the guardrail, the vehicle continued through a ditch and struck a tree before coming to a stop, according to the report. The man died at the scene around 3:30 a.m., the report states.
The Florida Highway Patrol report states that the man was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle, but the report does not state what the speed was. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.
