PLANT CITY — A 47-year-old Plant City man was hit by a car and killed while walking across State Road 60 at Turkey Creek Road on Monday evening, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A 19-year-old Plant City woman was headed east in a car on SR 60 about 6:30 p.m. when the man walked into her path at the intersection, the Highway Patrol said in a news release. He died at the scene from his injuries.

Neither the driver nor an 18-year-old woman riding with her were injured.

It was not clear from the news release who had the green light at the intersection, where SR 60 is a four-lane divided highway with turn lanes and a bike lane.

The Highway Patrol did not identify the driver or the pedestrian.
