Motorcyclist dies in Plant City crash

A 51-year-old Dade City man hit a car turning left at the intersection of James L. Redman Parkway and Trapnell Road, the Highway Patrol said.

A Dade City motorcyclist died Friday night after hitting a car turning on James L. Redman Parkway, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The motorcyclist was travelling north on the parkway when he approached Trapnell Road. A sedan heading in the opposite direction turned left in front of the motorcyclist, who struck the car, the Highway Patrol said. The motorcyclist, who wore a helmet, was thrown from the bike and died from his injuries at the scene, the statement said. He was 51.

The sedan driver, a 19-year-old man, had minor injuries reported.
