Two Pasco County women die after losing control of car, hitting tree

The 25-year-old driver lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Two Zephyrhills women died early Saturday morning after losing control of their car and hitting a tree, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A 25-year-old woman from Zephyrhills was driving south on Crystal Springs Road, past Douglas Road, in Pasco County about 2 a.m. Saturday.

The Zephyrhills woman lost control of her sedan for an unknown reasons and drove off the road. The car went into the east shoulder of the road, and then a tree, troopers said.

The Zephyrhills woman, and her passenger, a 27-year-old woman, also from Zephyrhills, died from injuries sustained during the crash.
