TARPON SPRINGS — Six people were shot in the area of Safford Avenue and Boyer Street on Sunday evening during an argument, Tarpon Springs police said.

The department received multiple reports of gunshots in the area just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday. They spoke with people who heard the shots, but witnesses were unable to identify any suspects.

Just after 7:30 p.m., officers were notified that multiple people had gone to Advent Health North Pinellas with gunshot wounds. Police interviewed six people who had gunshot wounds and determined the injuries appeared to come from the same incident.

Officers determined the shooting stemmed from an argument among people who knew each other.

Three of the people were taken to Tampa General Hospital and are in stable condition, while the others were treated at Advent Health. The investigation is ongoing and police didn’t release any other details..
