A 19-year-old was killed in a car accident Friday night when he lost control of his vehicle while speeding on Interstate 4.
The Plant City man, who was not named by the Florida Highway Patrol, was traveling westbound “at a high rate of speed” at 11:10 p.m. near Lakeland on I-4, according to an accident report.
“The vehicle departed the interstate, entered the north shoulder, struck a fence, and overturned before finally colliding with a tree,” according to the Highway Patrol.
The driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
